Spurs v West Ham:

Spurs began well early with multiple early corners and creative chances. However, the first goal came for West Ham and Muhammed Kudus. A counterattack that Spurs have been particularly poor at defending this season. A deep cross found Bowen who was able to pass it across the by-line giving Kudus the perfect scoring opportunity which he capitalised on for the second time in as many games. Both Bowen and Kudus have been excellent for the Hammers not only in this game but in multiple games and their fans will hope they continue to perform for the rest of the season.

However, despite their disappointment at having been the stronger team they conceded the equaliser although they had created a lot of chances until eventually a lost ball from Paqueta gave Maddison the ball through the middle and being the playmaker he is, he was able to find Kulusevski who placed the ball into the net off both posts. There was a lot of good play from both teams and West Ham’s defence was able to hold out against good attacking play from Udogie, Porro, Son and Kulu down the wings. One particularly good defender was Aaron Wan-Bissaka who is reinstating himself this season and is arguably one of the best one-on-one defenders in the league.

The game was over relatively quickly in the second half when West Ham conceded twice in two minutes. Firstly Son found Udogie (who have been an excellent partnership this year) down the by-line who then cut it back in excellent fashion to Yves Bissouma who was able to pick up his second goal of the season with an excellent finish. The second was a terrible blunder from Areola and Todibo leaving West Ham collapsing and lacking motivation as their city rivals rose to 2 goals in front.

Things went from bad to worse when half-time substitute Sarr dispossessed Bowen and was able to ping a ball from behind his own halfway line to Son who in fashion skipped over the ball and placed it into the back of the net to give his team a third goals cushioning. It has been an excellent season so far for the Lilywhites skipper and the rest of the team he guides. Spurs fans will be happy with the performance as they were excellent in attack and Angeball seems to be working for the white boys of North London.

The end of the game saw Kudus sent off for a foul on Van de Ven that led to a fight erupting in injury time and left Kudus going to the locker room. It was a very disappointing game for West Ham fans as they would have hoped to beat city rivals but that sadly didn’t happen for them today.

Brighton vs Newcastle:

Going into the game Brighton are coming off of a win against Spurs and for Newcastle a draw to Everton. Both sides come into the game wanting to come out on top of their table rivals.

Brighton has shot up the Premier League in recent years and has become somewhat of a talent factory with most top clubs having an ex-Brighton talent. However, this year has been Welbeck’s year. He and Mitoma have been the most important players in the club and in this game.

Welbeck scored the first and only goal off Rutter's pass slotting the ball into the far corner of the net. This will make Brighton fans very happy as they continue their push up the table, taking down big teams on the way.

They're a very creative team and it paid off in this game, for Newcastle’s Toon Army they will be disappointed with the team's recent performances given the calibre of players they have brought in since the Saudi takeover. It is highly disappointing for them to not be performing how they should be as they have a lot of star players and more recognisable names than Brighton yet the gulls keep coming out on top of these bigger clubs leaving them 5th in the table.

Liverpool v Chelsea:

Both teams were looking to come into the game and win, however, it is always a tough away game at Anfield and it was the home boys who drew first blood when Colwill and Salah collided in the box. Salah slotted it home which was no surprise making a hard game even tougher for Chelsea as they look to fight back.

The rest of the half wasn't too exciting but there were a few chances for Liverpool forming through their excellent passing, ending with attempts from multiple players in the midfield and attack. The first half was creative from both sides and just because Liverpool led it doesn't mean Chelsea didn't have a fight in them, creating chances in midfield and out wide through players like Palmer and Madueke who have proven quintessential to their performances this season.

Another man who was key in the first half in attack and has been throughout the season is Jackson. He proved his usefulness in the second half by bagging a goal to tie the game off Caicedo’s beautifully threaded pass in behind allowing Jackson to slot it home. However, the hope of a comeback didn't last long when Curtis Jones topped off an excellent performance by scoring the winning goal for his hometown club. Salah whips in one of his renowned crosses with amazing vision to find Jones’ darting run.

The game ended without another goal. Although Chelsea were able to create more chances and shots on goal than Liverpool, the Reds came out on top staying as the leaders of the Premier League. They have rallied together an impressive string of matches. For Chelsea fans though, it isn't all bad. They were impressive in attack and showed that they can fight with the big dogs even despite the doubts of others before the season.
