Here are five of the biggest transfers from this window and how they may affect their teams.

Mbappe to Madrid- This is obvious, Real Madrid is already miles ahead of most teams in Europe in terms of talent and this puts them on a whole new level. The recreation of Los Galacticos with sparkling transfers like Bellingham, Vinicius, Camavinga, Tchouameni and now Kylian Mbappe puts them in a position to win yet another Champions League as they are truly kings of the competition and will want to prove this again in the upcoming season. Kylian is a lethal scorer and creator and he will flourish in this team and Ancelotti’s fluid system.

Olmo to Barcelona-Olmo comes to Barcelona as a La Masia graduate who left to secure first-team football. But now he returns he can pick up the mantle of many great Spanish players before him. He will play a similar role to that of Joao Felix but hopefully for the Blaugrana at a higher level, it will also allow for Gundogan and Olmo to rotate in that CAM position and be the creative epicentre for the attack. Flick will like Olmo tactically as he can fluently transition across attacking positions in a similar way to Thomas Muller in Hansi Flicks Bayern teams where he was able to play in a second striker role, in midfield and on either wing.

Zirkzee to Manchester United- Zirkzee has joined United to be coached by fellow Dutchman Ten Hag. Zirkzee will hope to overtake the striking position from players such as Hojlund and become the starter for the team. Tactically he is excellent at taking up bits of space between defenders and using attacking movement and his pace to get in behind.

Alvarez to Atletico Madrid- He has proved himself at Man City winning everything with club and country at such a young age and he is more experienced than most players his age. Full-time starting minutes could lead to him exploding as a talent. He tactically could player a similar role to Griezmann allowing him to learn behind him and develop knowledge from an experienced player like Griezmann.

Calafiori to Arsenal- Calafiori is a giant Italian and fits into the mantra of defender that Arsenal currently use. Saliba and Gabriel are both over 6ft and Ben White is also, White, like Calafiori is primarily a central defender who can also play out wide. This provides Arsenal with the defensive foundation to have a title-winning team in the next season and they will hope to finally overcome the dominant Manchester City.
