Ja Morant: The Past, Present and Future.

By now, most of us are aware of what Ja Morant has done, however, if you aren't here is a quick recap as well as wondering what he will be able to do next season. Firstly, Ja told a user on what was Twitter “It’s free to see how hollows feel.” This began to paint a dark image of Morant relating him to gun violence as in his tweet he is referring to hollow point rounds. He was also reported multiple times around this time for threats of violence. One of the few times Ja turned violent was when he punched a 17-year-old at a pickup basketball game at his house, at one point he went and retrieved a weapon, returning with what was assumingly a pistol tucked into his waistband.

This was the beginning of Ja wielding guns and began a dark path that would lead to him waving guns on Instagram Live and being suspended from the NBA multiple times.

However, before this, there were reports of Ja Morant and friends pointing a gun at Indiana Pacers staff after they alleged there was a red laser pointed at them.

Ja hadn’t yet been caught with a gun but that was about to change. He was caught wielding and waving a gun around while dancing in a Colorado Strip Club and recording himself on Instagram Live. The NBA, specifically, Adam Silver suspended Ja for 8 games for unacceptable conduct that was deemed as “detrimental” to the NBA and its standards. Although Ja took accountability it wasn't yet over for him and his idiotic behaviour.

After this incident, not more than a month later, Ja was again waving a gun around on Instagram Live but this time while in a car. This was the final straw for Adam Silver and Ja Morant’s repetitive violent promotion of guns and he suspended him for 25 games.

We were not all expecting Ja to come back as strong as he did. He came back and had an incredible game with an outstanding buzzer-beater to win the game for his team against the Pelicans, reminding us all he isn't just a wanna-be gangster but an incredible basketball player. He managed to string an incredible run of games together and everyone could see a Ja reinvigorated with a love for basketball. However, this all came crashing down again when he injured his labrum in training: ending his season.

This can be a very serious injury and could affect Ja Morant for the rest of his career, however, I think we all know he is stronger than that and he is going to come back angry and eager to prove he is one of the best young players in the league as well as one of the straight-up best players in the league, something people have forgotten and I am excited to see his electric return this season and expect the Grizzlies to be underdogs this season.
