Aston Villa vs Leicester: Aston Villa are beginning to look like a team that can not only compete with the top teams and continue last seasons form, but comfortably can sit at the table of the top 8 clubs in the Premier League. Their game against Leicester was another very strong performance from the team but especially from the midfield. Again, it is hard to argue who was better between Tielemans and Onana but the Belgian duo have been the stronghold of Aston Villa’s team and Amadou Onana was able to bag another goal to add to his impressive tally this season. However, it was not all sunshine and daisy’s as he did pick up an injury but the team will be hoping he can move past it and recover quickly. Digne also had a good game picking up an assist from left back providing a wide attack that allowed Villa to be creative. Ollie Watkins was also good, however, this doesn’t mean Leicester were bad. Fox fans will be happy as new Argentinian youngster Bounanotte was able to get his first goal and although it wasn’t enough to rescue them points it’s a bright spark for them.

Arsenal vs Brighton: Brighton were again impressive and were able to massively put the pressure on Arsenal answering the questions about how good they could be as they have done what a lot of teams haven’t been able to do in recent years and have put up a fight against Arsenal when they were on a roll at the start of the season. For Brighton fans it will have been good to see the usual faces performing as well as a goal from Pedro. However, for gooners it was a heartbreaking game that saw Havertz push them ahead picking up another goal and showing the doubters he can be the first option on a title contender. It all came crashing down though when Declan Rice picked up a second yellow for purposefully touching the ball out of play and although the decision was dubious due to the Brighton player kicking Declan, referees are cracking down on purposeful delaying of play and this was a deliberate decision to break the rules. However, the referee didn’t penalise Pedro for a 30 yard kick when the ball was already out of play leaving Arsenal fans feeling mistreated having just watched their team drop points and the difference Rice could of made will never be known.

Manchester City vs West Ham: This was again the Erling Haaland show and it feels as if us all doubting if he could do what he done in his first season again has come back to bite us. Back-to-back hat tricks and 7 goals on the season so far. This result was no surprise but Manchester City should not be discredited. It was a team performance with their attack being explosive and high energy. Looking at their attack there is no questions that need to be asked as to why West Ham couldn’t hold them down: De Bruyne, Bernardo, Grealish, Doku and Haaland. 4 playmakers who can grab themselves a goal and easily the greatest finisher in club football. West Ham fans shouldn’t be disappointed and should hope that next week will see an improvement in form.

Bournemouth vs Everton: For Sean Dyche and the Merseyside Blues it is only getting worse. They had a good game and were up 2-0 looking set to win, however, that same old feeling of losing returned. Bournemouth kept their foot on the gas and in the space of 10 minutes went from a dire situation losing 2-0 to rivals Everton to 3 lovely goals that left them coming out on top. They looked to be missing Solanke having a lack of finishing however that didn’t matter in the end, coming out on top. Everton fans will deservedly be unhappy and the club needs to turn their streak of form around if they don’t want to end up with ending a 54 year streak in the top division of English football.

Newcastle vs Spurs: Both are creative teams and showed that early on with both creating chances and moving the ball well, then the deadlock was broken after a quick throw in and passed in goal from Harvey Barnes that left Newcastle on top despite the run of play being towards Tottenham. Despite them keeping up the pressure and equalising from an own goal, Isak assured spurs’ defeat and their form has come to an end. It was a good game for Newcastle fans who will have enjoyed watching their team bring a familiar win against Tottenham.

Manchester United vs Liverpool: The signs were showing early when Trent was called offside, however it wasn’t until Mo Salah assisted Luis Diaz for Liverpool’s first in a derby they are used to winning. Again the same combination created the second. Liverpool have become a creative powerhouse under Arne Slot and Ryan Gravenberch has come to life, he was again outstanding and the best player in Liverpool’s midfield. Creating chances as well as picking up loose balls and intercepting passes to gain possession. He has become a “do-everything” man for them in the middle. Mohamed Salah was also able to score a goal showing to any doubters that he is still one of the top players in the Premier League and is a necessary part of Liverpool’s squad and the club will be hoping that contract issues can be solved with the most integral man in their attack. Van Dijk also had an amazing game showing his experience and value to the team. For Manchester United fans it’s another disappointment following the defeat against Brighton and they will be hoping they can improve before it is too late.
